About This Place

Welcome to the vibrant atmosphere of Latorta Vigo - Dona Café, an inviting haven nestled in the heart of Praza Porta do Sol, Vigo, Spain. This café is not just a stop for your daily caffeine fix—it is a delightful escape where flavors and community come together in harmony.

Step inside or take a seat on the spacious terrace, where you can bask in the sun while indulging in some of the finest coffee around. As echoed by patrons like Jeff Rhino Bannister, it’s a perfect spot for people-watching while sipping on a glass of fine wine, coffee, or delicious pastries.

The café's menu is a treasure trove that includes rich coffee options, delectable pastries, and standout dishes like the empanada de pollo and renowned carrot cake. The attention to detail in every dish is palpable, making it easy to understand why guests like Andrew Tomlinson believe they’ve stumbled upon incredible value, such as two croissants with their coffees for just 4 euros. It’s hard to beat that.

Dona Café also excels in catering to diverse tastes with its ample vegetarian options and flexibility in order customization—like enjoying soy milk in your favorite coffee. This thoughtful approach, along with the warm smiles from the staff, creates a welcoming atmosphere that keeps locals and visitors alike coming back for more, as described by English Teechr.

However, it’s worth noting that the charm of the café can be tempered by local smoking habits, as raised by Bruno F. While the ambiance is generally relaxing, those sensitive to smoke might want to find a seat further away from fellow customers.

Whether you're in for a quick coffee, an afternoon feast, or simply to soak in the sights and sounds of Vigo, Latorta Vigo - Dona Café promises an experience filled with flavor and culture. With their delightful menu and inviting service, it’s a cafe that is sure to warm your heart. Stop by and let your taste buds discover a new favorite!

Great place to people watch and enjoy a glass of wine, coffee or a pastry.

Why do you make your coffee so delicious? These days, having been displaced from our usual hot chocolate haunt by a fire in the "churro" making machine that ravaged the locale, we have found refuge in the welcoming arms of the Dona Café. Located in the splendid Porta do Sol square, the Dona Café graciously accommodates us, offering an array of coffees, pastries, and a superb carrot cake, with ample veggie options as well. You may order a coffee with soy, no problem! The amenities include a spacious terrace equipped with fans for the summer, a television broadcasting fútbol matches or music, and waiters who bring your order with a warm smile. I can recommend the Dona Café without hesitation; a great hostess and a welcoming atmosphere await you. Now I have an issue, cause my wife loves your coffee!

Stopped for coffee, and was given two croissants with it! 4€ for 2 coffees and the croissants....that's value. And they were good!

Very nice cafe for many items. Coffee, beer, and excellent sangria. The food was delicious. Offering pizza, empanadas, and pastries. We had the Enpanada de pollo, An Estrella beer and a sangria. All were delicious. And the service was top notch!!

Quite liked the cake and a relaxing atmosphere. Wasn't pleased at all that everyone smokes around you. It makes it very uncomfortable. How can people still smoke in 2025 is beyond me. It's okay if you do but don't make everyone else have to deal with it

The go-to place to try the tarta de Vigo, or tarta de nata (as we were corrected!). A pretty café in the heart of Vigo, with typical Spanish service (not the friendliest, but attentive none the less!). The coffee, cake and tapas were delicious and brought quickly.
